Example of What to Expect - Level 1 + 2 Freediving Course
This program is designed to take you from beginner to a confident, safety-focused freediver through a structured three-session course combining theory, pool training, and open-water experience.
Transportation Support (Included for Eligible Service Members)
Transportation is included at no additional cost for unaccompanied active duty service members (E-6 and below) who are unable to register or operate a personal vehicle in Korea.
This is provided as a support benefit to ensure access to training—not as a paid service. Because of this we can only accept up to three students at a time for sessions.

Equipment Included
All required training equipment is provided:
Mask
Snorkel
Long fins
Session 1: Theory + Confined Water Training (Approx. 6 Hours)
Theory Session (3 Hours)
Typically conducted locally (e.g., on-post library), covering:
Freediving fundamentals and safety principles
Physics & physiology of breath-hold diving
Breathing and relaxation techniques
Introduction to freediving disciplines
Buddy system and risk management
Confined Water Session (3 Hours – Osan TSN)
Students will develop foundational skills, including:
Static apnea (breath-hold)
Dynamic apnea (horizontal underwater swimming)
Free immersion (FIM)
Constant weight (CWT)
Proper finning and body positioning
Safety and buddy procedures
Session 2: Knowledge Development
After Session 1, students will:
Create an account with PADI
Complete and pass the required knowledge development and final exam
Completion of this step is required before participating in open-water training.
Session 3: Open Water Training & Evaluation (3 Hours)

Students will demonstrate required freediving skills and performance standards under direct instructor supervision.
Performance Requirements (PADI Standards)
To successfully complete the course, students must meet the following performance benchmarks:
Static Apnea
Minimum: 90 seconds (Level 2 requirement)
Target progression: 2:30+ (Level 3 performance goal)
Dynamic Apnea
Minimum: 25 meters (Level 2)
Target progression: 50 meters (Level 3)
Depth Disciplines
Constant Weight (CWT)
Free Immersion (FIM)
Depth requirements:
Minimum: 10 meters (Level 2)
Target progression: 20 meters (Level 3)
Buddy Rescue Skills
Students must demonstrate:
Recognition of LMC (Loss of Motor Control)
Blackout response (Blow–Tap–Talk protocol)
Surface support and airway control
5-meter rescue recovery
Safe towing and post-rescue procedures
Certification
Upon successful completion of all performance requirements, students may earn their PADI Freediver certification.
Certification is optional
Certification fees are not included and are paid separately
